Announcing Leo Quincy!

June 26, 2010

Leo turns two weeks old today and these last two weeks have been quite a roller coaster.
The second induction went smoothly and within a few hours, I was in labor.  Thirty  hours after I started getting contractions, Leo was born, weighing in at 4510 grams (almost 9 lbs, 15 oz).
He wasn’t breathing at first and [...]

Cross your fingers and press your thumbs

June 10, 2010

In case you don’t follow the blog on Facebook or Twitter, I was in the hospital last week for an induction but it didn’t work.  I’m still pregnant, still nauseous, and the weather has changed from gray and miserable to hot, damn hot.
I go in for a second attempt first thing tomorrow, which the doctors [...]

Weekly Winners – January to mid-February

February 11, 2010

January 1 – February 11, 2010

November 17, 2007

I’ve been tagged by Swenglishexpat and American in Bad Homberg, so here goes.
1. My favorite sandwich when I was a kid was toasted peanut butter and Longhorn-Colby cheese. My favorite dinner was tuna casserole. Is that weird enough for ya?
2. I ate jalepeno poppers at least twice a week when I was pregnant. Haven’t wanted one [...]

I’ve got a question for ya

September 7, 2007

Okay, a little gross, but I need an answer and I hate speaking in German on the phone unless absolutely necessary, so I figured I’d ask here before calling random doctors offices for an answer.
What doctor do you see for an ingrown toenail?
In the US, I’d see a Podiatrist, which translates as Podologe, which seems [...]
