Kaeng Phed Gai – Red Curry with Chicken

ingredients
2/3 lb (300g) chicken, cut into bitesize pieces
1/2 onion, chopped
1 T vegetable oil
1-2 T red curry paste
14 oz (400mL) can of coconut milk
1 can bamboo strips
2 T fish sauce
1 tsp palm sugar (or light brown or white sugar)
1/4 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp paprika
