Cartographer Stephan Hormes and his wife Silke Peust, inspired by the descriptive Middle Earth place names created by J.R.R. Tolkien, have produced an Atlas of True Names. They methodically researched the origins of place names and then translated them to English. New York City is New Wild Boar City, Malta is Isle of Honey, Baghdad is God’s Gift. To see more pictures and for information on ordering an Atlas, see their site, Kalimedia.com.

MAC Pro Longwear Rules
I just have to make a big advertisement for MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour. I bought a tube over Christmas this year (Passion Preserved) and this product is genius. When it comes to makeup, I am highly low maintenance. This lipcolour is painted on like a lipgloss, then you let it dry and cover it with clear gloss for moisture and it is basically permanent until you take it off with oil-based makeup remover. It’s so longlasting, you can wash your face with regular cleanser and it’s still there. It doesn’t wipe off on clothes, you can rub your lips and there won’t be a trace. It’s so incredible, I put it on before my flight back to Germany, had dinner, a 12 hour flight, breakfast, fell asleep immediately after arriving home (neglecting to wash my face I was so tired), and upon waking up 10 hours later, I still had perfect lips. Oh, if only everything could be so awesome…
