The little project that’s been working on me

Just a small announcement…

ultrasound

Yep, that’s right, I’m 14 weeks pregnant.  This is the little troublemaker that has been keeping me from blogging as of late.

I wanted to make it through the first trimester before saying anything.  The illness I’ve been suffering from is hyperemesis gravidarum, a.k.a. excessive nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.  The baby is perfectly fine and healthy, but I’m very weak and about 20 pounds under where I should be at this point.

I’ve been in the hospital since Friday.  I just got discharged this morning so that I can fly home to see my family for Christmas tomorrow.  Tomorrow is going to be tough, but it’ll be nice to be surrounded by family.

My symptoms should ease up sometime between now and the 20th week.  I’m hoping for sooner rather than later.  Once I’m feeling better, I hope to get back to regular blogging.  Till then, I’ll post when I can.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Congratulations! In case it helps, I read this blog and the lady who writes it also suffered from that while she was pregnant. You might have to read back a bit (she’s since given birth) but maybe she’ll have some tips for you. http://lifeaslou.blogsome.com/

Congratulations and hope you get over that cruddy stage quickly – been there, and mine lasted until the 7th month. Your little bundle of joy on the way is already a cutie!

Oh my goodness… sounds miserable, but so glad you’ll be stateside for us to visit. Our plans are in a little flux, but I’ll call your mom’s house to sort out when we are passing through as I know you have other things too. (It may be later afternoon/early evening Sat.)

Congrats! Safe travels.

In the olden days when we did maternity clinics for the health department we advised Mom’s to be to try saltine crackers before getting out of bed. Just a couple.

Congratulations, that’s just great! My daughter suffered from the same thing but “our” baby is now 17 mos. old and the most fantastic little person. I am sure everything will turn out alright.

We will be in Texas in January. Where is “home” for you?

Have a great trip and a fantastic holiday season!
