Weekly Winners – St Emmeram’s Basilica, Regensburg

by Christina Geyer on August 23, 2009 · 6 comments

16-22 August 2009

This week we took some colleagues of Rainer’s to see St. Emmeram’s Basilica in Regensburg.  The basilica was founded as an abbey in 739.  It was refurbished in the Baroque style between 1731 and 1733 by the Asam brothers.

That looks beautiful! Some day I hope to travel to Europe to see some of this magnificent art and architecture.

I must admit, your public breastfeeding caption made me laugh.
Happy Sunday!

All beautiful, as usual. I cannot wonder what Facebook would think of Virgin Mary breat feeding (given all the hype about their rejecting breastfeeding pictures). It’s a beautiful picture but I was smiling widely when I saw it in particular.
