Thanks everyone! I never would have thought participating in Weekly Winners would improve my photography, but looking back, it really has. It makes me take photos every week, photos that I know people will be looking at. It makes me look for inspiration in my surroundings, which is especially hard when we spend the week at home! And finally, it fills me with ideas when I look through everyone else's photos, and encourages me to try new methods, and even educates me about different photographic theories. So thanks!

@secret mom thoughts: I think it would be cool to live in a crooked house, not sure I would want to own one though ;-)

@tiaras & tantrums: I hope you get to live over here for a while. It is such a wonderful experience.

@autumn: I've never done anything like that, but I guess I could give it a shot!

@rositta: Five months will go by quicker than you think!

@scott: What a coincidence! I still haven't been to that castle, despite 7 years in Germany and 2+ in Bavaria. Rainer's never been either. We thought this weekend was it. We figure at some point in our lives, we should see it, but looks like it'll be another day.

@gary: I didn't take note of the locations in Garmisch, but your descriptions sound right. Next time we head over that way I'll keep you in mind!

@stephanie: You're on the next post!

@alyson: We'll certainly head back in summer some time. It really was beautiful there in the mountains and I bet GAP is a great place to stroll around in the summer with an ice cream cone.

Great Pictures!! GAP, Linderhof, O-gau & Fuessen is my favorite area of Germany, and Garmisch is my favorite town-- It's one of two places I always visit when I'm there. (The other is Neuschwanstein-- long story.)

I would recommend going back to Linderhof in warmer weather-- the gardens are breathtaking, plus you can visit all the outbuildings, like the Venus grotto. Another worthwhile day trip (altho it's a bit of a hike) is the Partnachklamm, near GAP.

Love the pics, love the places, and color me jealous-- I wish I could've been there!! :o)

Very nice trip. Ulm always reminds me of Regensburg. Wies is a great Barok Church. I hope you took yourself time and went into the swan Grotte for a short condert......
If I recognized the two houses in Garmish the yellow one is on the Marienplatz and could be the Clausings Post Hotel and the other is on the end of Klammstr a Andenkenladen mit lots of Lueftlmalerei.
I miss those places you did a super roundtrip, if you go again I can give you a few tips for Restaurants as well as places to stay.

I really like the dafodils and the willow in the sun. But, all the old buildings are so pretty.

By coincidence, we also took the backroads between Garmisch and Füssen this week on Thursday, albeit in the opposite direction. After our visit to the Zugspitze, we thought we'd drive by the castle-that-must-not-be-named, just to prove to Christopher that it was the model for the Disney logo. He was convinced. :-)

These are WONDERFUL! I love the composition and the perspective you chose-- for example with Oliver in the playground and the daffodils shot. Lovely, lovely set!
