They’re finger lickin’ good
Today at our book club meeting, Jentry brought along the Netto advertisement for this week. This delectable product is on offer for Netto’s American Week. Run out and get your before they run out!
Update:
From Spiegel International, Tender, Juicy Obama Fingers Hit the Shelves:
“We noticed that American products and the American way of eating are trendy at the moment,” Judith Witting, sales manager for Sprehe, told SPIEGEL ONLINE. “Americans are more relaxed. Not like us stiff Germans, like (Chancellor Angela) Merkel.”
This is cracking me up. I don’t find Bavarians all that stiff, but now that I think back, when I worked in Berlin, my coworkers were a little different. There were chicken wings in the cafeteria every once in a while. The Germans would take them, and with surgical procision, remove the flesh and eat it with a knife and fork. I laughed, I joked, I ate them with my fingers, but I had no impact on my coworkers. There was one Austrian I worked with and he refused to get the wings because, while he couldn’t bring himself to eat them with his fingers, he was aware that eating them with silverware was completely ridiculous.

Mmmmm…tasty….
jentrys last blog post..They’ve made it to Spiegel
Hmmm.. fried chicken, get it? Next it’ll be Barack Brand Watermelons. Off to read the Spiegel article…
Serious request:
If you can please pick me up a box of those and send it along – cleaned, minus the chicken of course – I’ll pay you postage and some extra for your trouble. I’d love this as a souvenir.
omg! I made the exact same post yesterday! Except, I bought mine at Plus.
Very funny. I am glad they never made Bush fries, haha.
I was going to do a post on this too. I bought two boxes on Monday. They’re not half bad and the kids thought the packaging was hilarious.
@ian: Sorry, I was traveling and missed out on buying them myself. I saw that Mausi sent you a box already though. I might head over to Netto tomorrow and see if they still happen to have them. It is a small town after all, they might.
@j: I think there’s a Plus right next to the Netto too!
@nina: You mean Bush Freedom Fries, right?
@christina: I’m all curious to try these now! Hope I can still get ahold of a box.
