Some ideas to help you be a little greener

Today is International Buy Nothing Day.  Are you gonna participate?  For you readers in Germany, it might be difficult if you planned on getting groceries today to avoid shopping (sorry I didn’t give earlier notice, just learned about it about an hour ago), since the stores are closed in most places on Sundays and going a whole weekend without fresh supplies is tough, but maybe we can amend it to no shopping except for essential food supplies?  What do you think?

Also, I’m taking Crunchy Domestic Goddess’ No Plastic Holiday Challenge.  Can you commit to trying to avoid plastics and plastic packaging in the presents you buy this year?

If we get the European pass for Groceries, we are in – we need milk and produce to get us through tomorrow.

I participated yesterday and am participating today too. I’ve pledged to reduce my consumption throughout the season. :)

Tammy– I had to buy some groceries yesterday, so I think that’s a pass. :)

I try to make every day buy-nothing day, but you
    gotta eat. :-)

I followed your suggestion and started shoplifting today. What a great feeling. And, to be extra super duper ethically correct I stole from a BIO store. How green can you steal?

I’m a little late reading this, but I assure you I didn’t buy a single thing on the 29th since I spent the day in bed with a migraine. Seriously though, I try to buy within 100km which in this part of the world is difficult in winter. As for plastic bags and packaging, not happening here. Cloth bags all the way including for Christmas Gifts since they are all homemade this year…ciao
