The Morning After

“I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.

“And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt, I love this land, God bless the U.S.A.”

Finally!! Someone uses that song correctly. Since 9/11 it has been used as a creed for anger and bitterness and intolerance.

How wonderful! You have forever changed how I hear it.

thank you!

I keep bursting into tears.

Nice!
I am ashamed to admit I voted for the first time in my life this election– but I am glad I did!
Now let’s hope that he can keep up the momentum with the idealism, and extricate us from the militarism (I am a bit worried about his plans to up the war in Afghanistan).
Anyhow it is a proud moment for our country.

Ooh Lee Greenwood would be mad at you for using his song (he was a McCain supporter)

It was amazing to see the crowd shots last night and to see just how moved people were.

Obama brings hope but I do agree in that I hope he doesn’t lose some of his ideology once he has been sworn in as president.
