This is part 1 in my new series of Thai cooking Video Wednesday’s starring my mom and I. Today it’s all me, baby. Thanks to Cliff of Regensblog for being the camera man.
Today’s recipe is Thai Chickpeas with Sweet Mustard and Pickled Ginger. It’s a vegetarian dish and is quite delicious. You can get the recipe in English by clicking above, or here for the recipe in German: Thailändisch Kichererbsen mit Gong-Choi Gemuese und eingelegte Ingwer.
PS: I do realize my explanations are suboptimal. Next time we film, I’ll work on doing better. Hope you enjoy!

Super cool! I love this idea– and this recipe looks awesome.
One day when I’m living in a new place with actual stuff (With the house sale, I’m in bare bones mode at the moment with everything, including kitchen stuff, in storage)– I WILL be cooking this. There was not a single ingredient I do not fancy!
Mmmmmm!

Damon and I are on a huge Thai food kick at the moment. It’s so easy to make and good.
What is mushroom soy sauce? Does that come from the Asian store too?

@vicky: Maybe we can do it at one of our parents’ homes this November!
@cn heidelberg: Mushroom soy sauce (sometimes also called Soy Sauce with Mushroom) is available in bottles in Asian stores. You can also add it to any mushroom dish to give it a kick. I made a Pilzragout the other day and put some in – awesome. If you make this, let me know how it turns out!
I’ll definitely need to try this one, once I find the sweet mustard. Nice video instructions too.

I love Thai cooking. I shouldn’t be so spicy as in Thailand but anyway. I guess I’m a Nasi fan
I don’t practice Thai cooking so often but maybe I will. Hope to see more of this.
