Check it, I’ll be in Leipzig from Tuesday through Thursday (Oct 7-9) and will come to Berlin on Wednesday. Rainer’s busy the whole time, the evenings as well, so I’d love to meet up with folks. Comment or contact me if you’re game!

Wow… I wish I could meet you in Leipzig…
Are you sure you want to do the side trip to Berlin? I know it’s relatively close, but Leipzig has so much to do, and there’s a lot to do in the neighborhood (Dresden, Colditz Castle, Weimar, amd more).
Berlin is worth much more than a day, and if you do it as a sidetrip from Leipzig, you’ll spend a lot of your time traveling: Traveling to and from Berlin and then traveling around Berlin–it might be difficult to see much.

I wish I could meet you Adam! Thanks for the concern, if it was my first trip, I would agree with what you suggest, but I lived in Berlin for over 1.5 years and Potsdam for over 1.5 years, have visited Leipzig several times, and have been to Dresden, Weimar, and loads of other places in the area. This trip is just to meet up with people, and I’ve got so many friends in Berlin, I gotta make the side trip
Will see you here! Imagine we’ll all e-mail furiously before Wednesday.
I’ve been lurking on your blog for quite some time now. I’m a German living and working in Leipzig and just wanted to say keep up the good work!
As for your Leipzig visit: I guess you wrote the blog entry with the expat community in mind. Sadly I don’t know any Leipzig expat (or Leipzig expat blog, for that matter). I wish you a pleasant stay!
@Bib: See you soon!
@Matthias: I’m happy to meet Germans too, if you want to meet up. My one friend in Leipzig, who I’ll be visiting, is a German blogger: Ritas kleine Welt.
Thanks for the offer, but I’m afraid I’m not “game” enough to meet up (always love to learn new words: what’s the difference between “game”, “brave” and “courageous” anyway? My dictionary translates them all as “mutig”) That’s not supposed to mean I think you bite, just to avoid misunderstanding.
