The Off the Beaten Path Challenge

Yes, that’s right, I’m challenging YOU!  The challenge is to come up with at least one off the beaten path thing to do in your city, town, neighborhood, or region.  Things that most of the travel guides overlook.  Is your town not mentioned in travel guides?  Then this’ll be a cinch for you.

What do you need to do to participate?

  1. Make an off the beaten path post on your blog or website
  2. Comment on this post or on the challenge page

What will I do?

  1. I will organize the links by continent, country, state, city and neighborhood on the Off the Beaten Path page.

You’re not limited to one post either.  I’m planning on making at least two posts about the greater Regensburg area.  One with general off the beaten path sights and one with things to do with your kids.  So feel free to list ten restaurants or three playgrounds or five scenic hikes or one hidden architectural gem.  I will probably also make posts about other places I’ve lived in or visited.  This challenge will be ongoing, so any time you want, you can participate.

    One thing that is really cool about geocaching is how it does expose you to obscure parks or paths. I lived in Blacksburg for about 11 years and it wasn’t until geocaching that I discovered we had a frisbee golf course.
