@cliff: You know that, and I know that, but I'm guessing a significant percentage of bunny owners in the Ruhrgebiet don't. Did you watch the video? That one girl has quite an elaborate set up out in the woods.

@G: It is freaky. It's also freaky that there's some psycho going in to people's gardens expecting to find a rabbit to kill and he comes up empty-handed. How long till he moves on to the family cat, dog, or the family itself? And what is he doing with the blood and the heads???

Wow. That's even more frightening. Someone stalking animals (and perhaps people in the future) with Google Earth.

Gs last blog post..I'm back...and I'm very, very tired.

the point of putting them in the woods was that the hutches wouldn’t show up in satellite or aerial photos due to the tree cover.

Well, moving them into the woods won't do very much good to keep Bunford McStalker from poking around their yards looking for them. Once an image is on Google Earth it can take a while for it to update again. Saves the buns from getting detected in the future of course, but for the short term el creepo will still come looking.

The killer has been going into peoples gardens to kill the animals. The police had one theory that the killer is using Google Earth to find homes with rabbit hutches in the gardens. I'm guessing there are also people bringing their rabbits indoors, but the point of putting them in the woods was that the hutches wouldn't show up in satellite or aerial photos due to the tree cover. The report says owners are bringing their rabbits into their garages and cellars as well.

Why do rabbit lovers and breeders have their animals/pets in the woods rather than their homes or gardens? Not to minimize the problem of having a psychotic in the area, of course.
