Video Wednesday: Texas Lightning

by Christina Geyer on April 9, 2008 · 9 comments

I didn’t get around to shooting any new video for you this week, so I thought I’d present another German country band, Texas Lightning, singing, “No no never.”  This was a huge hit two years ago and was Germany’s entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006.

Wow, just found this while messing around on YouTube and I had to add it to the post. It’s Texas Lightning covering Madonna’s “Like a Virgin.” You know, these German country bands are pretty good actually.

Amari was rocking out to the first video. LOL! I wish I had my video camera in hand.

Oh wow! Texas Lightning!
I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert not long after their Eurovision competition.
The music was fun and the crowd was great!.

Madonna meets German country band–it’s so much better than I expected.

Oooooh, thanks for posting this. Eurovision is only about 6 weeks away!! Can’t wait – it’s always such a trainwreck.

A good example of the importance of somebody singing without an accent, which otherwise can be very distracting. They sounded quite original to me, could have been from the US.

I believe the lead singer is Australian, the rest of the boys are German if memory serves…

@ snooker: you’re right. she’s australian. don’t know much about the rest of he band, but olli dietrich is one of germany’s finest comedians.

Yup, she’s an Aussi. And I envy you Snooker, I think it’d be cool to see them in concert.
