So does it mean anything?
Not in German. Rainer figures it’s the store owner’s last name. According to Ancestry.de, there are 466 people in Germany with this last name. Unfortunately, the Ancestry.de doesn’t seem to be free anymore, or at least it requires you to register with the site.
“Full of shit maybe”?:)
Do they have anything to do with the guy who murdered his backpacker girlfriend in Africa?
Wow, that place must SUCK.
@silvia: Never heard about the backpacker murder in Africa…
@DB: True dat!
I used to live across the street from Suckfüll when I first moved to Munich.
And yes, it is the owner’s name.
I believe the name Suckfüll is derived form the Altdeutsch word for “rob you blind and provide grumpy service into the bargain.”
They once charged me €40 for a pair of pliers.
I bought a cooler there, once—an Esky for all the Australians out there. I asked the lady where I could get some ice, and she thought I was crazy for wanting to keep my beer cold with ice cream. My German is bad, but not THAT bad.
I love how German words all seem to sound vaguely smutty. http://deutschlanduberelvis.blogspot.com/2007/07/local-tongue.html
€40 for pliers, that’s crazy! But I envy that you got to live in Schwabing, that’s one cool neighborhood!
