I made it, 5 out of 5 cakes completed, and only 1 hour after the party started! LOL!
I had a blast and gotta thank Cliff and Sarah for the delicious selection of coffees and Hezamarie and Alex for the great espresso. I think the cakes actually turned out pretty well this time around. Except for the chocolate cake, which I sorta made up last minute, they’re all from recipes out of Desserts To Die For or Ultimate Cake.
Clockwise starting from the top, we have Kahlua Death By Chocolate Cake, Dobos Torte, Angel Food Cake with Caramel Pineapple Sauce and Warm Strawberries, Berry Vacherin, and Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake.
But now I’m coming down off my sugar/caffeine high and I think it’s time to head off to bed – the little guy is waiting for me there – he crashed the moment the last guest was out the door.
Hopefully I’ll post my Munich pics and thoughts tomorrow (that’s the plan anyway)!

I’m so bummed I missed it! Matthias said he had a great time. I’ll have to bum the recipes off of you are some point. Once we get a bigger place, I’ve got to throw a party. I miss playing hostess.
They look like they came from the best Conditorei, fabulous job, I’m jealous…ciao
@tammy: No problem. I’ll be happy to lend you the books!
@rositta: Aw shucks! Thanks!
You’re a goddess! Each one of those cakes looks truly fabulous. How in the world did you manage it all while looking after that little baby?
I’ve never been a cake eater until yesterday. Now on every 16th of March I will worship you, your cakes, and your cake making abilities. You have made me a believer in all things sweet.
Thanks so much for all your effort and sugaring us. These cakes were above profi level!
I take that as very high praise indeed! Your food creations always look like pictures from a magazine! And Rainer had to watch the baby, lucky I have a great German!
@hezamarie: You’re embarrassing me! *blush*
Too cute!– the cakes and Oliver that is!
wow. especially the cake with the fruit – far far beyond just homemade good!
HOLY COW! Ok a few weeks back when you sent out the meet-up survey, I calculated that it would take about 6 hours to get to your town and chucked the idea of being able to come for a meet-up…. those 6 hours sure look a lot shorter after looking at those cakes!!!!
OMG. Salivate.
Happy belated birthday Christina. Your cakes look both delicious and beautiful! Sounds like you are all doing well! Say hi to Rainer and hugs to Oliver.
Wow! Who cares about professional? They look delicious, in particular the Berry Vacherin! (Licking my mouth!)
BTW The cookie business is working now, your site remembered who I am. Great job!
Um, lecker. And great shot of the little man.
Oh my gawd!
Those look fantastic!
I miss Sonntagnachmittagskaffee and Kaffee und Kuchen in general.
Yeah, there’s great cafe’s where I live and I wouldn’t want to miss those, but it’s not the same as sitting in a Cafe Konditorei in let’s say Beratzhausen with friends for a good chat! Or even better at your house, when you bake cakes
I still can remember seeing your preggy pictures and now… the little guy is growing
man, those cakes look divine!
love, these cakes look very professional to me. and this come from someone who has several bakers in her family!
Yum yum yum yum yum!!!!!!!!!!!!
