For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to invite half of Regensburg over tomorrow and bake cakes to feed them all. I have now completed 3.9 out of 5 cakes.
I’m always disappointed in how they turn out. I want them to look like the pictures in the recipe books, or professional at least. They usually look good, but homemade good. Why can’t I break through to professional-looking? Why do I care? Homemade good is good. Argh. Anyways, hopefully I will emerge from the kitchen sometime Monday with lots of yummy photos for you. Whenever we had cake walks in my town, my mom would say that you should always pick the ugly cakes, because they taste the best.
Maybe I should be hoping for really ugly cakes then
