At the store Saturday, I was walking through the cereal aisle and I spotted a new, promising looking offering, Weetabix Looters. True, the whole Pirates of the Caribbean box theme is a little cheesy looking, but I grabbed it anyway and ran home to try it. Now admittedly, it’s been a long time since I had Cheerios, but I think these taste pretty much right. So, Cheerios-missing expats, run out and grab a box (and tell me if I’m just way off on this one).
Holey Cheerios, Batman!

As you know, Cheerios are a very important item in our household, so I’ll be rushing off to try these asap!
@blythe: Tell me what you think. Rainer was so intrigued by the post that he wanted to try the Looters as soon as he got home. After downing a handful, he exclaimed, “You guys miss this stuff??? Blah!”
I love Cheerios – I’ll look for them too!
Hi Christina,
Ooooh; I just loved Cheerios when I was a kid ! I have to keep my eyes open for that.
Although I stopped eating breakfast cereals since I’am in France. Never too late to pick up good breakfast habits again !
You take care.
@schokolade madchen: I found them in Real here.
@barbara: I’ve really gotten out of the habit of eating breakfast lately too. Need to fix that! You take care as well!
Hmm, I am going to look for them too. I’ve been feeding Little Chickadee the Honey Loops – they are nothing like Cheerio’s and a sticky mess to boot. Hope these are the real deal.
@andrea: Yeah the Honey Loops are more like Honey Nut Cheerios, but not quite.
After several days of bugging, my husband picked up a box. I think they are a touch too sweet for good ol’ regular cheerios, but we like, we like!! Thanks so much.
@ann: It’s been so long since I’ve had Cheerios that I wasn’t sure if they were exactly the same, but I’m glad they’re good despite being a little sweeter!
Hey… I bought some a few weeks ago (Netto had them) and they reminded me of the multi-grain Cheerios. (They had those years ago in Germany, but I guess they didn’t sell well). Ok substitute, but what I really miss is Raisin Bran.
@rebecca: Can’t help with the Raisin Bran. I miss Bran Flakes and haven’t found an acceptable substitute. Also still looking for Grape Nuts…
