Bärenstark, indeed! I looooove hearing other people's birth stories - they're all so unique. And wow, what an ordeal, but you got through it just fine and he's a gorgeous baby.

@blythe: 2 months for the IV scars to go away? Ugh, then I've got 5 weeks to go still! I didn't ask about the stitches, I didn't really want to know. It took me 2 weeks before I grabbed a mirror and took a look at the state of things "down there". ;-)

@j: Thanks, J!

Good job, Mama!
I think my doctor must have made a trip to Regensberg because my IV-attempt scars finally went away after 2 months. What's up with that?

Also, the whole "oops, your epidural ran out, and we just don't have time to give you any more" ploy really made me mad. I actually argued with the doctor about it. Which I wasn't exactly doing from a position of power.

When I asked how many stitches I got, they looked at me like I was crazy. I think I'm glad I never found out.

I'm not sure I will ever forget the pain, but the payoff becomes more evident every day.

You look great, and Oliver is beautiful.

@carol: That's exactly what they were worried about. He didn't engage in my pelvis until a few hours after I was induced.

@O-tay & BiB: I think I basically shot-putted him out of my uterus ;-)

@maria & michael: Thanks!

@vicky: LOL! No, no sentimental reasons. I wore it cause it's oversized, so fit over my big belly and was still lose and made it down to my hips. Also it's a shirt that I wouldn't have minded ruining if it got badly stained or anything.

@rainer: Thanks! Rainer was great during the birth. I think he was even more exhausted afterwards than I was!

@sognatrice: Really? I didn't consider the experience very pleasant, but it was definitely worth it to end up with such a wonderful little boy!

@tammy: Glad to be informative! ;)
