I managed it and y’all were right, it is worth all the work (at least when there is no Cinnabon in the neighborhood). Now I’m wide awake from all the sugary goodness and Rainer’s in Bielefeld, so the whole pan is mine (ALL MINE!). Okay, maybe it’s not so good for the baby if I eat a whole pan of cinnamon rolls, so I guess I could leave one or two for Rainer, if he hurries back, that is!
The dough is made following About.com’s Ultimate Cinnamon Roll Recipe, while the filling and topping are from cdkitchen’s Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll CopyCat Recipe (the dough recipe from this one was for bread machines and since I don’t have one, I used the other recipe).
A cinnamon-y spiral of sugar perfection!

Oh you are an evil evil woman!
dude, i want that.
Boy, do those look yummy!!!
Î have duly copied the recipe and am looking for a day when my blood sugar is at an acceptably low level so I willlhave an excuse… the Ossie will hate them (too American! Too sweet!) but that means all the more for MEEEEEE!!
you’re a temptress in disguise.
OMG … do those look good!
Rainer (one of the few Germans who thinks sugar and butter are a great snack) has made it back from Bielefeld and declared that these cinnamon rolls are even too much for him! He says that this treat has reached the caloric/sugar saturation point and that things taste great as they approach saturation level, but at saturation they just make you sick.
BTW, they are even better warmed up on the second day, but I made the mistake of eating three over the course of the day and didn’t feel too well that evening. There can be too much of a good thing!
@vailian: Haha! You kinda sound like Gollum (from Lord of the Rings) there towards the end!
“MMM… my precious cinnamon rolls!”
