Weekend Update

Had a fun time at Girlie Weekend at Jen’s (of Heisse Scheisse fame) where I saw Christina (Mausi) again and met Kim (Stepping Stones), Claire (My Euro-American Life), Jessica (In Search of Dessert), Tatiana (Von Tauber), Brigit (Eurotrippen), Maria (Country Hopping), Ann (Ann ona Moose), Penny and yet another Christina (who both need start blogging - seriously)! I think I managed to get everyone in there, but don’t hate me if I forgot you - I’m so tired right now!

It was a lot of fun gossiping, reading tabloids, pigging out on American junk food and just in general bitching about things with fellow expat women. It’s so nice to meet people so you can put a face and a personality together with what you’re reading.

On the ride home I came to two conclusions:

  1. Crazy people who cannot yet afford dark colored BMWs drive dark colored Seat Leons. (Now, don’t get me wrong, NOT ALL dark colored BMW drivers are crazy, my brother has a navy blue BMW and he’s a very good driver, but it does seem that most crazy drivers are in this brand of automobile).

  2. The craziness multiplies by a large degree when you cross from Franken into Bayern. Two and a half hours of the trip were okay. The last 30 minutes were harrowing. Rainer confirms that southern Germans have the reputation of being crazy drivers.

Now I am going to watch the Lost third season preview on Premiere 1, followed by the first episode of the third season - Yay! (It will be showing regularly on Friday nights on Premiere Serien) Then I am going to fall into a deep coma and not wake up for a long, long time.

And finally, HAPPY 32ND BIRTHDAY TO VICKY! Who has taken a page from my book and is suffering with strep throat today.

Notice that the minivan is even parked in spot #93. What high school spirit we had! So give a cheer for science and tech, give a cheer for TJ High! (Yes, believe it, those are actual words from our HS fight song)

    Haha—- what a picture! I remember us decorating that car— didn’t quite remember cameras being around ;)

    With Lost Season 3, I hope they don’t pull the stunt they pulled over here— they give you six new episodes and then you have to wait 2-3 months for the rest.

    @vicky: Haha! I don’t remember decorating the car, but I’ve got a bunch of pictures of it!

    Lost was so good last night! I am fighting to keep myself from buying all the episodes off of iTunes. I hope they don’t interrupt the season here, I think I would lose control then!
