First, I just wanted to remind everyone that the 49th Grammy Awards will be airing in Germany on Pro7 starting at 2:00am this Sunday night/Monday morning. Normally I don’t bother staying up for the Grammys, I just watch the highlight show that airs in primetime the next day, but The Police are reuniting to open the show this year! I’m more excited than words can express. Hopefully it will be a great show and I’ll have heard of most of the acts (which was not the case with the 2006 MTV Music Awards show).
My second topic is one some squeamish folks may want to skip. It falls under the category of things you probably didn’t want to know about pregnancy. Okay, if you’re still reading, I did warn you…
Now, I’ve always done kegels, even before I knew that what I was doing was called kegels. As a kid, I’d sometimes see how many times I could stop and restart peeing until I was done (yeah, I was a WEIRD kid, I’ve never denied that – and don’t try that at home, it can lead to urinary tract infections, but didn’t in my case, I’ve never had a urinary tract infection, although I’ve heard they are incredibly painful). Anyways, you’re probably wondering where I’m going with this – my point is that urinary sphincter strength is not a problem of mine. Now, for about the last two weeks, every time I sneeze, a little tiny bit of pee comes out. It doesn’t matter if I just peed, or if I know the sneeze is coming and prepare myself. Every time, achoo=pee. This is getting on my nerves. Especially if I’m dusting and get a noseful, then it’s time to change underwear. This is just a sucky byproduct of pregnancy.
Oh, and my ultrasound on Wednesday showed a healthy baby, but that was all. It was feeling a bit camera shy and stayed curled up with it’s back to us the whole time. Bit of a letdown, but the 20 week ultrasound is coming up, where we should almost surely find out the sex.

I’m sorry. I don’t mean to…but I can’t help but chuckle! I had the little bit of pee problem late in my third trimester. It was so embarrassing sometimes! I ended up just wearing (and carrying with me) some light day pads.
zippadee-doo-dah! the admins have sorted out most of the wonky stuff. the blog is (in a rudimentary state) back online.
@maria: well, it’s good to know that at some point I’ll be able to look back at this stuff and chuckle
@rita: Yay! Glad you’re back up and running!
Tena makes bladder control pads. I found them really useful when I was pregnant.
@Anon: Thanks, you’re the second one to give me that tip! I’ve already ordered a free sample off their website.
