Watch out Leipzig, here I come!
So, our plans were to visit one of Rainer’s old friends Dominic tomorrow, but then Rainer told me the evening would entail Indian food (okay, but not my most favorite cuisine) and football (soccer, that is), so I decided that Rainer should have alone time with his friend and I am going to spend the day in Leipzig with Rita!
We also have handys (a.k.a. mobiles/cell phones) now! After two weeks of confusion, Eplus finally figured out where they had delivered our phones to and Rainer went and picked them up. He then got a call from Eplus this afternoon on his mobile, saying that they’d been trying to reach him to help him with locating his mobile. Rainer asked them why they would be trying to reach him on the mobile when they knew it was lost somewhere in transit. They stuttered and grunted as they searched for an answer, which never actually came.
Anyways, mine is a picture phone and here is my first pic:
What is this?
a) Probably the last piece of blue sky that will be seen in Germany for the next six months
b) Deutsche Telekom’s idea of a quick, efficient, well-manned construction job
c) Deutsche Telekom’s cruel joke on Christina involving installing DSL lines on her street only after she moves away
d) all of the above

Christina Geyer has lived in Germany since May 2002. She also blogs on the site

It’s the strangest thing about DSL lines. I have a coworker who lives just north of Route 7 in Sterling, along the Fairfax County Parkway. You would think every house in that area would have DSL available, but you would be wrong. For awhile he had a neighbor with a T1 who was selling wi-fi internet, and now he’s on a cable modem.
it certainly was a very lovely day! i hope you enjoyed it as mucha as i did. sorry for the endless talking though. i am a jabber-mouth when nervous. :)
@stacy: That is strange. One would think DSL lines would be available all over Fairfax County, but at least your coworker has the option of cable.
@rita: It was a really nice day and I had a lot of fun. And I didn’t notice endless talking. I’m a little quiet when I first get to know people, so it works out perfectly!
And now I’m beat, so I’m signing off and will post about my Leipzig trip the next time I’m online.
