I finally got around to buying my plane ticket to the US for my brother’s wedding. It’s weird to think of my little brother getting married. Yes, chronologically he’s 25, but it’s hard to picture him as a grown-up. The wedding is July 29, I’ll be in the US from July 19 - Aug 15. The plan right now is that from July 20-27, my aunt and I will drive up to Philadelphia and Boston to do some genealogical research in the State Archives, and August 6-13 will be Geyer family vacation in Hilton Head. Rainer can’t take the time off, so he gets to spend four weeks with Charlie instead (Charlie got his rabies vaccination last night and I asked Rainer to see how much it will cost to neuter Charlie, but he refused to ask, “I can’t participate in that,” he says - I was not feeling well and stayed home).

I haven’t been watching the World Cup the last couple days (I was footballed-out), although I did make an exception and catch the Brazil match and have decided that Adriano has replaced Ronaldo as top Brazilian cutie (but I’ll always have love for Ronaldo). The Brazilian footwork is sometimes breathtaking, but they are still not putting forth full effort. I wonder if they will step it up or not. I’ve predicted them as making it to the finals (where England will beat them 2:1) and I will stick by that for the moment.
