Where have I been!?!

Tobias and Katrin’s wedding was cool, especially because our hotel room didn’t have any heat. We still had to pay full price. This would never fly in the US.

I’m juggling many computer projects, which is a pain (literally and figuratively), because I can’t sit at the computer all day. I’m working on a budget using Money, trying to work on my family tree, trying to make photo tours of the places we visited in September with my aunt, and trying to rewrite the code for my webpage. I’m not actually changing much of the look, just trying to make the code look better, as it is currently super-crappy looking.

Rainer and his group are hosting a workshop this weekend, so he’s only here for sleeping. Next weekend he’s going to be in Portugal.

Charlie is a total maniac since returning from the kennel. He doesn’t listen to us at all and is acting very dominant. What happened there??? I guess he got to be the boss of all the dogs and has a big head about it now. I dunno. Anyway, it’s creating a lot of work for me as I try to get him back to proper form.

Rainer doesn’t want to get Charlie neutered, because he won’t be a “man” anymore. What’s with men and their balls? If I didn’t want to possibly have kids one day, I wouldn’t miss having ovaries at all. It’d be nice not to have to worry about periods.

Charlie and Anna sittin’ in a tree…

Today in puppy school, Charlie finally got the girl every guy there’s been after for months now. They thoroughly sniffed each others privates, played together, and layed down together for awhile. Charlie also humped her, but he didn’t really seem to know what he was doing. By the way, Anna is this really cute, light-colored golden retriever - or maybe she’s a mix because she’s a little petite for a Golden - and I think she’s almost a year old, if I remember correctly. When we got home, Charlie didn’t want to cuddle with us anymore. He had to show that he’s a big dog now and doesn’t need to cuddle with mama and papa.

Tomorrow night, Charlie spends his first night without us. He’s going to a kennel so that we can travel to Tobias and Katrin’s wedding on Sunday in Wurzburg (Tobias was Rainer’s best man). They’ve been together since high school (they’re in their late 30’s now) and have just had their second child. My mom was in love with their daughter when she was a baby at our wedding. Hopefully it’s nice weather Sunday.

In slightly uncomfortable news, my mom has a boyfriend, Kevin. I know this is good for her, and my dad’s been gone for four years now, but it’s just kind of weird knowing that your mom is spending the night at some guy’s house. I’m sure this feeling will eventually pass. It also worries me a little that my mom has some money and according to my brothers, this guy doesn’t. He’s a dairy manager at a grocery store who’s paying alimony and child support. And he’s 40 while my mom turns 55 in December. Yeah I know it can happen, there’s Demi and Ashton, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, etc, but it can also be bad news. I hope she doesn’t decide to marry him before I get a chance to meet and get used to him, my mom can be rather impulsive sometimes.
