Greetings from rehab
I’m now 5 days at rehab and have lost at least .7 pounds. (I don’t remember what I weighed in as on the first day, so this is .7 pounds in the last two days, and it’s actually .3 kg, which is why I don’t remember the first weight, because my brain wholly objects to the existence of the metric system).
I was starving last night before bed, I literally thought I was going to die (okay, not literally). I had to take a sleeping pill to get to sleep, but I’ve been taking a sleeping pill every night since I got here, so that’s actually no big change.
Yesterday I went for an hours walk along the beach, did a half-hour of swim-jogging, then walked into town to buy some fruit (45 min roundtrip) - due to my starvation. I was also very depressed, due to the fact that it’s hard to find people to hang out with here. I played rummy with some old ladies the other day. That was cool and they were really funny, but I haven’t found them since. Maybe they’re hiding from me. And I’m being shadowed by this weird old German guy who asked me if I was going to the mixed sauna today (where men and women can go and sit around naked in a steam room). I told him, no, I was going to be hanging out with my husband.
Rainer, Sabine and Charlie will be here any minute now (so I need to make this quick and get to the lobby to wait for them). Sabine is a friend of mine from Max Planck in Rostock (Rainer’s my husband and Charlie’s my dog, in case you didn’t know). We’re going to the inner side of the peninsula to look at the wetlands, but first we’re going to a seafood restaurant because I want fish and that’s allowed. So, Ciao for now!
